Importance of Certification for a career in Personal Training

Importance of Certification for a career in Personal Training

Ask yourself; are you good at motivating people? Do you like helping people make healthy lifestyle choices? Do you think you can be a good personal trainer? If the answer to these questions is “yes” then you are halfway through in becoming a great personal trainer. The other half is by getting a certification.

Anyone who has the ability to motivate and inspire can become a personal trainer. But a good personal trainer goes beyond motivating and inspiring. A good personal trainer knows his job well. He / she provide substantial information about exercise, diet and nutrition. A good trainer also knows how to deal with special cases like people with special needs, older people youngsters and physically challenged.

A good trainer knows how to handle the gym equipment and also how to teach people to use these equipments in the right way. They also know different training techniques like lifting, cardiovascular exercises, Pilates and Yoga.

Considering the sheer number of personal trainers that are there in the market, a Certification is what will make you stand out in the crowd. Most importantly it offers a sense of satisfaction to the client or the employer that they are hiring someone who knows his / her trade.

Working out and motivating people is one thing, but when you consider personal training as a career or a business option, it’s a different ball game altogether.

Market your personal fitness training services

Market your personal fitness training services

The first obstacle that every business faces is, ‘How to market its services?” This is also true of a personal training service. The first though that comes to the mind is how can I market my personal training service and how will I attract new customers? Getting people interested in your services is not an easy job. It involves a lot of planning and efforts to launch an effective marketing campaign that will finally have them coming to you.

Get a certification: The most important step when you start your own personal fitness training service is to get your self certified. Even if you have an experience in personal training, a certification is what people look for. They find it easy to trust people who are certified in their field. The analogy is simple, you wouldn’t go to a dentist t have your car fixed or vice versa, even if the either is ‘experienced’ to do the job.

Know you competitors: Study the market, know your competitors. Study the strategy they adapt to market their services. Analyze what different can you offer and how that will benefit the clients. Promote your unique features. Highlight how you are different from the other. People are always on the lookout for something different, if you are successful in getting their attention, they will come to you.

Design a website: Millions of people use the internet to buy and compare products and services. There are thousands of websites that talk about their personal fitness services, why should you be left behind. Get your own website. Highlight you unique points on the website. Design a website that is easy to navigate. Offer health tips, news letters, and anything that will have people visiting your website. Remember to regularly update your website. Keep up with the changing trends in your industry.

Promote your uniqueness: What’s different? Why should people come to you if you offer the same service that any other personal trainer is offering? Talk about the distinct features of your services and how they will benefit the clients. Highlight you specialty.

Identify your clients: Target the clients that you want to train. Some trainers offer services only to celebrities and athletes, in this case the marketing strategy need to be different. You need to market your services in a way that will get their attention. Putting out newspaper ads will not help in this case. Instead, put ads in the premium magazines and fitness journals that will get you the clientele that you want.

Plan your marketing activity and work towards your goal and soon you will have people running to you for your services. For more details about career in personal fitness and personal trainer education please visit our web site.

Online Personal Trainer – Are they Good?

Online Personal Trainer – Are they Good?

With more and more people taking fitness and health care seriously, the fitness trainers have grabbed the opportunity to increase their rates. Not everyone who is starting to workout can afford the high fees charged by the trainers. Well, there is an alternative to this situation, the ‘Online Personal Trainer’. You can hire an online personal trainer for a relatively small monthly fee. Indeed a personal trainer will help to improve ones physical condition, but not many would be in a position to pay about $75 per session (a complete fitness program is surely more than one session). One has to dedicate a lot of time and efforts during workouts. On an average you need to devote about 2 – 3 days a week for at least ten weeks. If you calculate well, you will see that the cost to become fit is high.

Often wondered why people give up easily when it comes to fitness? That’s because most people are not comfortable going to a gym especially when they are overweight. According to the American Sports Data, nearly 3.8 million people weigh around 300 pounds and about 4 million males average about 400 pounds. The situation is alarming as health issues related to obesity are also on the rise. Each year about 300,000 people die of obesity related diseases. Despite these facts people find it hard to accept the problem and are ashamed of their situation when they go to a gym. They think that everyone around is looking and talking about them.

An online personal trainer can help you overcome this problem. With an online trainer you can work to get to your fitness goals. There are many websites that offer you an online fitness training options for charges as low as $9.99 per month. But such sites often don’t do you any good. Looking at the cost, many people fall prey to such sites and sign up, only to drop out at a later stage. One must be careful about such websites.

There are however few good ones that offer better services for about $75 to $100 per month. Such sites chalk out a fitness program plan and work one-on-one with you to help you with your fitness needs. They offer you an option to work with just one trainer. Working with just one trainer makes you feel comfortable and you find that things are not that hard after all. Most of these sites have a predefined fitness programs and they try to fit everyone in these programs. They fail to understand that every individual has his / her unique needs and limitations and that every fitness program must be tailor-made to suit these individual needs. It is mostly because of these reasons that such sites fail and that’s the reason why hiring a personal trainer is much more beneficial.

Personal Trainer Will Give you That Extra Care and Attention

Personal Trainer Will Give you That Extra Care and Attention

Fitness is the “buzz” word these days. You will find many people talking about fitness and health more than they ever did before. People have realized the need to stay fit and healthy to have a successful life. To fulfill their need to be fit, people are signing up for fitness programs at a local gym. If you too are interested in having a perfectly fit body you must also enroll with a gym or hire a personal fitness trainer.

A personal trainer is the one who will work with you to help you achieve your fitness goals. A good personal trainer will identify your specific needs and limitations and then design a fitness plan that will suit you best. An experienced and a reputed personal trainer, while drawing up a plan for a weight loss program, will also lay special emphasis on diet and nutrition. A weight loss program is incomplete without a nutrition and diet plan.

A personal trainer is often one who can train you in the comforts of your own home. Many people find it difficult to visit a gym owing to the distance of commute or may be they are too tired to go to a gym after a long day at work. Unlike a gym where you are likely to work on a program that is like “fit-for-all”, a personal trainer will provide you specialized attention and design customized exercise plans that will suit you requirements. Hiring a personal trainer is the best option for people who want to workout at home and stay fit.

As any good trainer will tell you, the best time to workout is anytime. Hiring a personal trainer will have an advantage that you will be able to fit him / her in you daily schedule according to your convenience. You will not enjoy such flexibility at a gym since the time slots may be booked and would not be able to accommodate you.

Having a personal trainer has its own price. A personal trainer may charge you more that what you may have to pay at the gym, but it is worth it. Since you will have a dedicated trainer looking after your specific needs and one who understands what you want. Some personal trainers also provide additional services like drawing up a diet plan at no extra cost. This will be beneficial for those working out to loose weight.

Age is not an issue when it comes to having a well toned body. Many elderly people who hire the services of a personal trainer look a lot younger than they actually are. This makes them feel good and healthy. Often such people are self independent and carry a very positive attitude.

Every individual has his / her own specific fitness needs. Whatever your needs may be, you just need to talk to your personal trainer for him / her to design an fitness regime to help you achieve you fitness goals.

The trainer must also be aware of your medical records to be able to design workout plans that suit you best.

Obesity is a major problem faced by many Americans today. There are many trainers that offer weight loss programs. A good trainer, while designing a weight loss program for you, must also include nutrition and diet plans in the program.
